FELICIANA GUANZON
Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT
Senior Supervisor & Clinician
My name is Feliciana Guanzon, and I am a Filipina American Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with people of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I have a special interest in working with 1st- 2nd generation BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) adults. My ideal clients are those who struggle with big emotions, lack self-awareness of their critical self-talk, and feel weighed down by high or unrealistic expectations of themselves.
I offer a compassionately direct, warm, and collaborative approach. I use a mix of evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT, along with your strengths, to support your mental health and growth. When working together, I consider factors such as grief/loss, relationships, affirming cultural differences, and various aspects of your life. I'll help you practice helpful coping strategies during the session and may also give you practical tasks to do between our sessions.
As a Clinical Supervisor, I oversee and guide the clinical development of trainees and associate therapists. This allows me to keep learning and stay involved in the community, which helps me better understand different people's needs. It also helps me support my supervisees and clients by offering the most effective and culturally sensitive therapy.
In my free time, you can find me exploring new coffee shops or attempting to cook recipes that seem least likely to end in disaster from social media.
